Strong Brand Identity is the Alpha and Omega for any Company!

Having a strong and solid brand Identity is, indeed, the Alpha and Omega -the beginning and the end- for the long-term success of any company. If you pair this strength with a clear visual iconography and simple yet efficient forms and a catchy motto, then you can have a solid base for any design challenge. Following, I'm showcasing but a few of the most recent examples of brand Identity design I've worked on, mainly as it were, on behalf of young entrepreneurs and budding companies with lots of inspiration and appetite for engagement with their targeted audiences.

Soul Vibes Dance Studio & Healing Techniques

I was trusted with designing the logotype and various aspects of the visual identity of this vibrant space (business card, flyer, signpost, banners, social media content). It's a dance studio where the client teaches predominantly young children but also offers dance classes for adults, focusing on modern dancing techniques, improvisation, self-reflection, meditation and most importantly the healthy connection of body and soul through the medium of dance.

The client had a pretty clear vision from the get go as to what the icon would depict (the female figure mid-jump, reaching for the star) and what sort of aesthetic she wanted the visual identity of the studio to follow, as to complement the industrial-inspired minimal look that had already been adopted for the actual space itself (hence the use of light magenta and black in the final design).

Fabled Games Publishing Company

I was trusted with designing the logotype and various aspects of the brand identity of this up-and-coming space (mainly focused on social media content). It is a publishing company focusing on indie board game design, production and distribution. The general direction for the logotype was “fairy tale with a twist”. The clients sent me a rough original sketch as a guide and I worked my way up from there with successive refinements and adjustments that led to the final design full of character that the clients were aiming for. Color wise they wanted something that represents prosperity and glamour, hence the green and gold-tinted colors used in the final design.

Aethionema Jewelry

I was trusted with designing the logotype and various aspects of the brand identity of this radiant space (business card, brand-related stationery, social media content). It's a local jewelry shop and artisan studio whose owner is a young female entrepreneur who designs and crafts high quality hand-made jewelry mainly out of silver, gold and semi-precious stones.

The client had a pretty clear vision from the get go as to what the logo would depict -she is an artist herself- so I was sent an original sketch which became a solid base for me to work with. The name of the brand “Aethionema” is actually a type of flower. It comes from aitho- meaning to scorch, and -nema meaning a filament or thread - hence the genus name refers to a scorched filament or thread. And so quite fitting for a jewelry brand, the logotype icon is an artistic representation of this flower. Much like refining a piece of metal, the initial design needed to go through a series of refinement procedures and polish-ups in order to make it as visually sound as possible for the use predominantly on social media where the brand gets most of its exposure. The artisan uses a minimal pastel color palette, minimal yet very elegant jewelry designs and the shop space itself promotes tranquility and joy.

ANIMAfelis Creative Space

Here I'm showcasing the thought-process behind the making of my own brand logotype. When I first started working on this project, I envisioned that the main focus would be the initial letters in the name of the brand, “A” & “F”. I tried out various ways of combining the forms of these two letters and eventually ended up with an “A” that sort of had a tail. So then of course I had to try out the cat icon approach since this here space is named after the cat -felis- genus and the word that represents the creative, expansive aspect of a "soul" - Anima.

That led to another round of refinement which ended up in me scribbling over photos of my actual cat whom I used as a model. And that scribbling led to a(nother) series of me heavily editing out the feline form I ended up going with, until the overall silhouette turned into a satisfyingly flowing, coherent design with just enough detail to give it the character I was looking for without obstructing the overall readability of the form. The fonts used to complement the icon are purposefully round, feminine and elegant and the colors I used represent joy (the magenta one) which -coincidentally- is also the name of my cat and creativity (the dark turquoise one).
