Illustration has always been my first and most enjoyable passion!

I’ve been drawing stuff since I was a toddler. It has always been my safe space for expression and as I grow older and wiser, I find myself thinking that I want to share this part of myself with the world even more profoundly!

The illustration projects I’ve worked on so far are mostly on a local basis and usually for book covers and private commissions or for fun, practice and for building up my portfolio content. I’ve attended illustration and comic-book design classes at Ornerakis School of Applied Arts and have self-published a couple of comic-book compilations that I’ve show-cased in local comic book and other pop-culture related festivals in Athens.

As an illustrator, I’m always learning new techniques and striving to hon my style, be it with my trusty Wacom tablet or my faithful ball-point pens and watercolors. Following are just a few select compilations of pieces I’ve made with a specific theme or technique in mind that cover a large range of the spectrum of my intellectual and collaboration interests.

The Cat Project

The Cat project started off as an Inktober prompt right before the pandemic hit, where I'd decided to make sketches of all my friends' cats, and then some.

Well, this escalated to me making portraits in traditional watercolor and ink medium of my friends' cats with the grand intent of collecting said portraits in a big printed art book. I've collected over 30 portraits so far and this is still an ongoing project. Here I'm showcasing but a few of the most prominent ones. Space Cat Naya was the one portrait that inspired the rest of the series to bloom and I'm most proud of it!

The “Made of Stars” Project

“Slowly rebuilding
I feel it in me
Growing in numbers
Growing in peace

People they come together
People they fall apart
No one can stop us now
'Cause we are all made of stars”

Moby - Made of Stars, 2002

This is a series of digital illustrations I made over the course of a few years that have a common theme in their core: the theory that everything created in this universe is made out of matter that derives directly from the stars after they go super-nova. And if we presume that stars may have some sort of consciousness, then all matter deriving from them may also have some sort of consciousness. And if we presume that consciousness is something that connects all living beings that came out in the Big Bang, thus, humans, as conscious beings made out of “conscious” matter are all connected with each other and with everything else within the universe.

The common theme was not exactly intentional from the get go, but rather underlying. My intent with each of these illustrations was to explore a certain aspect or other of our perception of reality that ranges from the metaphysical to the transcendental and various aspects of awareness and connectedness.

Contest & Exhibition Pieces

This section showcases a menagerie of various digital illustrations I’ve made over the years, as contest pieces, commissioned pieces for book covers, posters and the like and as exhibition pieces for local pop-culture related events. It also contains a few select pieces I made just for fun or for practice.

Most of these pieces were made using Paint Tool Sai and Adobe Photoshop with some custom brush sets and various textures.
